THE AMBASSADOR EXTRAORDINARY AND PLENIPOTENTIARY OF THE KINGDOM OF THE NETHERLANDS TO THE REPUBLIC OF ARMENIA VISITED YSU
YSU Rector Hovhannes Hovhannisyan met with Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Kingdom of the Netherlands to the Republic of Armenia Nicho Schermers.

They discussed opportunities for strengthening and developing bilateral cooperation.

Welcoming the Ambassador, Hovhannes Hovhannisyan presented the structure of YSU, directions of activity, as well as the programs aimed at the development and internationalization of the university.

 

According to the Rector, the aim of the reforms implemented at YSU is to further improve the quality of education, to promote innovative research and to train competitive personnel in the local and international labor markets.

 

The ambassador noted that he was impressed with the activities of the university, noting that he is ready to support the establishment of new contacts and the implementation of joint programs.

YSU RECTOR MET THE CHAIRMAN OF THE EURASIAN ECONOMIC COMMISSION COUNCIL DELEGATION HEADED BY M. V. MYASNIKOVICH
YSU rector Hovhannes Hovhannisyan, along with Deputy Minister of Education, Science, Culture and Sport of RA Karen Trchunyan, hosted the delegation headed by Mikhail Myasnikovich, Chairman of the Council of the Eurasian Economic Commission. For his activity and significant contribution to increasing inter-university bonds, the rector handed a certificate of gratitude to Myasnikovich.
THE THREAT OF DESTRUCTION OF ARMENIAN CULTURAL HERITAGE IN NAGORNO-KARABAKH
From 15 to 19 July 2022, a conference on "The Cultural Heritage of Artsakh" was held at the Yerevan State University and the Diocese of the Armenian Apostolic Church of Vayots Dzor/Armenia. More than 30 international scholars and experts discussed the origin, historical development and current threats to cultural heritage in the region of Nagorno-Karabakh (Artsakh). These are part of the Armenian culture and, thus, amongst the oldest heritage of Christianity.
