ASSOCIATE PROFESSOR ARSEN GRIGORYAN WAS AWARDED BY YSU GOLD MEDAL ON 65TH ANNIVERSARY
Acting YSU Rector Hovhannes Hovhannisyan awarded YSU Gold Medal to Arsen Grigoryan, Head of the Department of Physical Geography and Meteorology of the Faculty of Geography and Geology on the occasion of his 65th birthday.

The awarding ceremony of YSU Rector, Associate Professor Arsen Grigoryan took place today in YSU Rector's Office.

YSU Vice-Rectors and Dean of the Faculty of Geography and Geology Marat Grigoryan were also present at the awarding ceremony.

Dean of the Faculty of Geography and Geology Marat Grigoryan emphasized that Arsen Grigoryan has an important role in training specialists.

 "He plays a big role in training young people. However, I especially want to mention that this year the team of Armenian schoolchildren under the direct leadership of Arsen Grigoryan for the first time took the 3rd honorable place in the International Olympiad and won a bronze medal.  And since we have won the 3rd prize, we have the opportunity to participate in the International Olympiad to be held in Paris next year without any prior competition.  Serious work is being done in that direction ": he said.

Arsen Grigoryan thanked for the medal and mentioned that the award is inspiring.

YSU RECTOR MET THE CHAIRMAN OF THE EURASIAN ECONOMIC COMMISSION COUNCIL DELEGATION HEADED BY M. V. MYASNIKOVICH
YSU rector Hovhannes Hovhannisyan, along with Deputy Minister of Education, Science, Culture and Sport of RA Karen Trchunyan, hosted the delegation headed by Mikhail Myasnikovich, Chairman of the Council of the Eurasian Economic Commission. For his activity and significant contribution to increasing inter-university bonds, the rector handed a certificate of gratitude to Myasnikovich.
THE THREAT OF DESTRUCTION OF ARMENIAN CULTURAL HERITAGE IN NAGORNO-KARABAKH
From 15 to 19 July 2022, a conference on "The Cultural Heritage of Artsakh" was held at the Yerevan State University and the Diocese of the Armenian Apostolic Church of Vayots Dzor/Armenia. More than 30 international scholars and experts discussed the origin, historical development and current threats to cultural heritage in the region of Nagorno-Karabakh (Artsakh). These are part of the Armenian culture and, thus, amongst the oldest heritage of Christianity.
