The SSS international conference, which is held on April 16-20 this year, is dedicated to the 100th anniversary of the foundation of the Armenian First Republic. The aim of the conference is to provide students, post-graduate students and scholars with the opportunity to share their academic research results with the academic audience, to improve their professional skills, as well as to establish contacts with young Armenian and foreign researchers.
Over the next five days, about 500 representatives of about 50 scientific-educational institutions from more than a dozen countries will be present at 20 professional sessions of the scientific session, which will be held at 19 faculties and 3 institutes and centers of YSU.
Greeting the participants, YSU SSS Chairman Mher Hakobyan said that the restoration of the Armenian statehood began in 1918 with a public and scientific renaissance: “The foundation of the First Republic of Armenia after the difficult times became the symbol of the unity of the Armenian people. And during the existence of the First Republic in 1919, the Alma Mater of our country was established, which, in its turn, became the most important development basis of the country. Today, we are honored to once again launch our annual scientific session at YSU.”
According to Mher Hakobyan, this conference is one of the most significant scientific events organized in the recent years from the point of view of the number of participants, members of the organizing committee, the support staff, and the number of sections.
At the solemn ceremony of opening the conference YSU Vice-rector on Students, Alumni and Public Relations Ruben Markosyan said that one of the main activities of YSU SSS is the annual scientific session, which has been organized in the international format for the last 5 years.
“Annual scientific sessions are dedicated to important and significant events for our country, our people and our university. I am glad to note that these events are distinguished by a high organizational level and I want to thank the SSS team on behalf of YSU Administration,” - said YSU Vice-rector.
During the solemn opening ceremony Deputy Director of YSU Institute for Armenian Studies Mher Hovhannisyan presented the preconditions of the establishment of the First Republic of Armenia and its importance.
